Assign a resource to a single event duration
Through the following feature we can assign a resource to a single event or to several within the same service. It is usually used when the duration of the event is greater than the start of activity time intervals set in the schedules.
The best way to understand it is through an example.
At company level we have a resource of 12 seats and quantity 1.
At service level, we set that each event lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes and the booking times are at 30 minute intervals, for example: 09:00, 09:30, 10:00 and so on.
In the example shown below, there is a booking for 5 adults who have booked at 09:00 and as the option to "Assign this resource to a single event duration" has not been ticked, in the following hours, it can be booked but deducting the 5 seats occupied by the 09:00 reservation. These 5 seats will be released at 10:30.
This type of case usually occurs when you have a room where up to 12 people can be at the same time but can enjoy the event at different starting times.
However, if when a booking comes in we want to block that resource until that event is over, we must check the option "Assign this resource to a single event duration".
Once marked, and following the example above, the following hours after 09:00 will be blocked until the resource is released 1 hour and a half later. At the 09:00 event, 7 seats would still be available.
This type of case usually occurs when the resource is a guide, a vehicle, etc; and once the event starts, no additional pax can be added.
