Where can I find it? TuriTop plugin for WooCommerce
Google Tag Manager is a tag management system that allows you to manage and deploy marketing tags (code snippets or tracking pixels) on your TuriTop booking system.
This integration is designed for companies using the TuriTop plugin for WooCommerce and will allow you to track your (purchase) conversions in Google Analytics 4.
To set up this tool correctly, you will ideally need the assistance of a marketing and GTM specialist, particularly if you have more advanced requirements or need to track events that we do not support. Please note that it is your responsibility to: create your GTM account, configure and install the tags and triggers, test that they are working correctly, and publish the changes to your website.
If you have any queries after reading this article, please contact our support team so that we can advise you based on your TuriTop account settings.
Connecting GTM to WooCommerce (TuriTop Plugin for WooCommerce)
This setup only applies to users of the TuriTop Plugin for WooCommerce. If you are using the TuriTop widget, please refer to this article.
You can use any available plugin to integrate your WooCommerce online shop with Google Tag Manager. However, please note that we cannot provide support for third-party plugins, nor can we guarantee compatibility with every tool available on the market. We therefore recommend using the GTM4WP plugin.
Step 1: Install the Plugin
To connect Google Tag Manager to your website quickly, we recommend using a specialised plugin. You can download and install the plugin on your WordPress site via this link.
Step 2: Log in to Your Google Tag Manager Account
Go to the Google Tag Manager site (https://tagmanager.google.com/) and log in with your associated Google account or create a new account (tutorial).
Once inside, access the Workspace and copy the ID that you will see at the top right of the page. It will be similar to: GTM-XXXXX.
Step 3: Connect Google Tag Manager with the Plugin
Inside your website, access the GTM4WP plugin settings and go to General >>> Google Tag Manager ID. here you must add your Google Tag Manager ID.
Then, in the Integration >>> WooCommerce window, you will find the options to capture the events you need.
Install the Google Tag Manager Tag
For instructions on how to install the GTM container on your website, check this tutorial. Although the code snippets can be inserted manually, there are many tools that can help you install them depending on the CMS you are using.
If you are using the plugin "GTM4WP" you can choose whether to install or not the tag via the plugin, within General >>> Container code ON/OFF:
- Select "On" to insert the GTM tag.
- Select "Off", if you have already installed it in another way to prevent duplicating the code.
Testing in Google Tag Manager
Google recommends checking that the tags you have set up are working correctly before publishing your changes. To test them, click on the "Preview" option.
You will need to enter your website’s URL and, once it has loaded, click "Continue" and simulate a user’s behaviour on the website to check that GTM is correctly recording the configured events.
Make sure you have already installed the Google Tag Manager tag on your website.
