Where can I find it? Company >>> Resource Manager
Through this feature, we can assign a resource to a single event or to multiple events within the same service. It is often used when the event duration is longer than the interval between activity start times.
Let's look at some examples:
-
Case 1: Do not assign a resource to a single event duration
At the company level, we have a resource with 12 seats and a quantity of 1.
At the service level, we configured each event to last for 1 hour and 30 minutes, with booking times at 30-minute intervals (for example: 09:00, 09:30, 10:00, etc.).
In the example below, a booking has been made for 5 adults for the 09:00 AM event. Since we did not check the "Assign this resource to a single event duration" option, bookings can continue to be made for the following time slots, but the 5 seats that are already occupied will be deducted from the total. Those 5 seats will become available again at 10:30 AM.
This type of configuration is useful when, for example, you have a room with a capacity for 12 people, and customers can still enjoy the activity even if they arrive at different times.

Case 2: Assign a resource to a single event duration
At the company level, we have a resource with 12 seats and a quantity of 1. In this case, by checking the "Assign this resource to a single event duration" option, when a booking comes in, the resource will be blocked until the event ends.
At the service level, we will have the same configuration as in the previous example (Case 1). When a booking is made for 5 adults for the 09:00 AM event, the subsequent time slots will be blocked until the resource is released 1 and a half hours later. In the 09:00 AM event, 7 seats would still be available.
This type of case usually occurs when the resource is a guide or a vehicle. Once the event begins, no one can book for overlapping time slots, since the guide or vehicle will not be available until the first event ends.
