Where can I find it? Services >>> PX (Desired service) >>> Prices and Discounts
In this tutorial, you will learn how to set up and manage price variations to optimise your sales strategy, tailoring them to different customer types (agents, resellers or gift vouchers) or specific ticket categories.
For further information on price variations, please check the following article.
How to Configure Your Price Variations
First, select the service to which you wish to apply the variation under the Services tab >>> PX (Desired service). Once there, go to the Prices and Discounts section and, in the first field (next to the word "Add"), make sure you select "Price variation".
The next step is to adjust your price variation. Below you will find a detailed explanation of each available setting:
Application channels and gift vouchers
-
Agents and Resellers: Indicate whether the variation will apply to bookings coming from your agents, resellers, or both.
-
Gift Voucher: In this box, you can select whether you want the variation to also apply to the purchase of gift vouchers.
Variation Type and Value
In this drop-down field, define the type of variation and enter the value (number) in the adjacent box. You can choose from the two following options:
- Different price per ticket: New fixed unit price.
- Subtract from the total price: Fixed discount on the total.
Ticket Selection
In this section, you must indicate which price categories the variation will apply to, by selecting whether it applies to a specific ticket or to all types of tickets.
Validity Period
In this section, you can define whether the variation is based on the time the transaction is made or the day the activity is enjoyed. When you choose an option, the following settings will be displayed:
- By Event Date (Day of the activity/event): This option applies the variation according to the date on which the service is provided. You can configure settings such as the date range, time range or days of the week to be applied.
- By Purchase Date (Time of booking): This option is ideal for seasonal campaigns. There are two modes available: Simple purchase date or Purchase date range.
Date Exclusion
This feature allows you to define specific dates on which the variation will no longer be applicable. The system will ignore the general variation rules on the selected days, ensuring that the standard rate remains in effect without having to manually deactivate it.
Once you have defined all the parameters for your variation, click on the "Create" button to confirm the settings. The system will automatically generate the variation and you will be able to view it in the list that appears at the bottom of the screen, as shown in the following example:
Additional considerations
Modifying existing price variations
It is important to note that, due to the traceability logic of the system, it is not possible to edit the configuration of a variation once it has been saved.
If you need to make any changes to the rules, values, or conditions of an existing variation, you will need to delete the current variation and create a new one with the desired settings.
Overlapping variations
When two or more price variation conditions apply to the same booking, the system will automatically apply the variation with the highest value, ignoring the other applicable variations to avoid duplication.
