Where can I find it? Company/services >>> Channel Manager >>> GetYourGuide
In this guide, you will learn how to connect your TuriTop services with your products on GetYourGuide (GYG) to centralize your bookings in your TuriTop dashboard.
First checks
Before linking your services, you must verify and take into account the following points:
- To connect GetYourGuide with TuriTop, you must first ensure that you have an account and have set up your services in both TuriTop and GetYourGuide. If you don’t have an account with them yet, please register here.
- Due to GetYourGuide platform limitations, events with a start time of 00:00 are not valid. Therefore, if you have events scheduled at that time, you must modify them to 23:55 or 00:05.
- When connecting with GetYourGuide, you are only synchronizing availability and bookings. Therefore, there are elements that you’ll need to configure and update separately on both sides, including service descriptions, ticket types/names, add-ons, pickups, and others.
- Make sure both platforms are set to the same time zone. You can verify it in TuriTop under Company >>> Default Settings >>> Timezone. In GYG, your time zone is determined by the location of the Meeting point configured within each option under the Meeting point or pickup tab.
- To connect with GetYourGuide, your tickets must be in English or translated into English. If you haven’t done this yet, go to the Translate tab in your control panel, select English, and translate all fields you manually entered into the system.
- In GetYourGuide, the form fields Name, Email, and Phone are mandatory. Therefore, to map your services with those in GetYourGuide, you must have them enabled in TuriTop. Remember that the form can be configured globally or per service.
- The current integration does not support group tickets. You must therefore ensure that your tickets in TuriTop comply with this and that in your GYG panel configuration, you sell tickets per person. This is configured in the Availability & Pricing menu of each option in your GYG products.
GetYourGuide will maintain the API connection as long as the cut-off time defined in TuriTop for each service is equal to or shorter than the one set in your GetYourGuide product. Around 40% of GetYourGuide customers book last-minute, so GYG aims to guarantee the shortest possible cut-off time for its users. Through the API connection, they aim for a cut-off time between 0 and 3 hours, although they accept up to 10 hours.
- Finally, deactivating the service in TuriTop does not deactivate the product in your GetYourGuide panel. So, if you want to stop selling a product, you must deactivate it in both panels.
Step 1: Activate the Integration
The first thing you need to do is log in to your TuriTop control panel and navigate to Company >>> Channel Manager >>> GetYourGuide. Tick the "Active" box to enable it.
Step 2: Map the Tickets
To link your TuriTop tickets with GYG tickets, go to Services >>> PX >>> Channel Manager >>> GetYourGuide.
You must select a TuriTop ticket type for each GetYourGuide ticket type, even for those you don’t plan to sell on GetYourGuide. For example, if I don't want to sell the ticket "Senior" on GYG, you will need to map it to a TuriTop ticket. Later, on GYG, you can select which tickets you are actually going to sell.
If you want to modify your tickets in TuriTop, go to Services >>> PX >>> Tickets. Remember, you can click More to access advanced settings. There you’ll see ticket visibility and other options.
Don’t forget to click "Save" so the changes made in the ticket mapping are correctly registered.
GetYourGuide tickets are fixed and cannot be modified, unlike the tickets you configure in TuriTop, which are customizable.
You can only link one GetYourGuide ticket type to one TuriTop ticket type. For example, you cannot link the "Adult" ticket in GetYourGuide to both "Adult" and "Adult (resident)" tickets in TuriTop:
Step 3: Activate and Get the Product ID
Once you’ve finished mapping your tickets, tick the option "Enable this service for Get Your Guide API" and then click the button to the right of the "TuriTop Product ID" code to copy it.
Keep this code at hand, as it will be necessary later when configuring your products from the GetYourGuide admin panel.
If you use the transfer system and want to link each pickup point to an option of a product in GetYourGuide, follow this tutorial.
Step 4: Access the Option to Connect in GetYourGuide
To complete this step, log in to your GetYourGuide supplier panel and click the Manage tab to access your Products.
Once you identify the product you want to connect, click "View details".
When the product page opens, go directly to the Options section and click "Edit option" for the option you want to connect with the TuriTop service.
A GetYourGuide product can have multiple options. You can only connect one TuriTop service per option.
Step 5: Connect the TuriTop Service
In the option panel, go to the Connectivity Settings submenu.
Under the question "Do you use an online booking system?", select "Yes, I use a reservation system", type "TuriTop" in the search box, and select it:
Then, in the "External product ID", paste the code you copied in Step 3.
If you have already connected other services before, you’ll see a list of active and available services for connection.
Once you’ve linked with the TuriTop service, click "Continue" to finish configuring the product and publish it.
Step 6: Finish Configuring the Product
As soon as you complete the Connectivity Settings, you’ll need to configure Availability & Pricing.
Check that you have selected the "Price per person" option, since, as mentioned in the first checks, group tickets/prices are not supported.
If you already had a pricing option configured, you can use or edit it. If not, you must set the prices at this stage.
Make sure to select "No" in the question "Do you want to apply the prices that you have specified in your reservation system?" in the pricing configuration.
The current integration does not support price synchronization nor group tickets.
Once you configure all remaining options, GYG will validate the product for publication. Keep in mind that availability synchronization is not immediate, and it may take hours/days for the calendar to update on your GYG product page.
Any future change you make in your connected GetYourGuide product may break the mapping or cause errors in bookings or the connection. If you need to make changes to your product structure, please contact your account manager to assess the impact before taking any action.
