Where can I find it? Company >>> Resource Manager.
There are many companies that face different situations in which they need to have a powerful manager to handle their fleet of resources (ships, cars, bus, guides,etc.). Next, we will explore the most common scenario of configuration: a bus that shares its seats between several products or services.
Resources can be configured in many ways and not only following this example. If you have any questions about this, please don't hesitate to contact us through More [+] button of your TuriTop's control panel.
How to create a new resource
Step 1: Go to the Company tab >>> Resource Manager
The first step is to create a resource which, in this case, will be a bus. Enter the resource name and click on the "Add" button.
Then, you will see new options being deployed.
- Assign this resource to a single event duration: If you want to know more about this functionality, click here.
- Weekly / daily quantity variation (Optional): If you want to know more about this feature, click here.
Step 2: Configure the Resource
In order to share this resource with several services, it will be needed to configure it as follows: in the quantity box, enter the value "1"; this is due to having just one bus. If you had more buses, you'd have to enter the number of them. Then, in the seats box enter the value "12", since there are twelve seats.
For our example below, we will check the "Assign a resource to a single event duration" box.
Share the Resource
Step 1: Assign the resource to the Services
There are two things that you should consider in order to associate a resource to a service:
- Go to Services tab >>> Select the service >>> Service Details >>> Event duration. For example: in this case, it is a visit to the museum that takes 4 hours.
- Next, go to the Tickets section and, in the first box where says "Use shared resource seats", choose the resource to use. In this (For the sake of this example) case, select the bus resource and in seats, enter 12.
Share resources with as many services as needed. Then, once you have shared the aforementioned resource with all of them, at the exact moment a booking is made in one of them, the bus resource will be assigned to that service for as long as the event's time lasts until there aren't more available.
Let's have a look at this example:
A booking has been made on the P16 - Visit Museum which stars at 09:00, therefore, as it shares the bus' resource with the P17 - Visit City service, so the service P17 will remain closed as there are no resources available at 09:00.
Also, as the event lasts 4 hours, the 11:00 services, both P16 and P17, will be closed.
If you need the 11:00 event of the P16 service to be open you would have to uncheck the "Assign a resource to a single event duration" box.
Another way to share a resource
In the special case that you need to share the seats of a resource among several services,it will be needed to configure it this way:
In the seat box, enter the value "1"; this is due to having just one bus. Then, in the quantity box, since there are twelve seats, enter the value "12".
Let's have a look at this example:
A booking has been made on the P16 - Visit Museum which stars at 09:00 and uses 7 seats, therefore, as it shares the bus' resource with the P17 - Visit City service, both services will show 5 seats available, as depicted in the image below.
